    Summer Bowling

Monday, June 11, 2007, 10:19 PM CST [General]

I signed up for a summer bowling league to do something different this year, took a while to think about signing up or not, finally did.  But, now, half way into it, I'm not so sure that I'm liking it which is one of the reasons I almost didn't sign up.  It's only a fun league because it's a no-tap league and I thought I could keep up my skills by bowling in it ( I'm still working with my new ball) but the lanes are tough and I'm finding that I'm not really excited about bowling.  I think deep down, knowing that it's a fun, no tap league is what's killing me besides the fact that we only have 5 teams.  I actually thought it would be bigger than that because the lanes are a big place (36 lanes).  So, just 5 more weeks of misery or look at it as a learning experience I guess!

Thursday, March 1, 2007, 07:30 AM CST [Feeling good]

What a way to take out February!  I bowled in our fun (work)league last night and bowled a 223, 225, and 151(bummer) for a score of 599!  I was very happy with those results!

Thursday nite bowling - Nitehawks league

Thursday, February 22, 2007, 10:55 PM CST [General]

I bowled pretty good tonight. Had a 169, 178 and 177 for a 524, this is over my average!  I sure  hope I can keep up bowling good with this new ball of mine.  It's a Power Groove.  Used was all I could afford at the time I got it, but it was only slightly used.  Learning to throw without a back-up ball was hard, but I did it and a new ball was my treat! The last ball I bought was 25 years ago and it was a "Custom Classic" from K-Mart.  I kept a decent average with it, but it was definitely time for a change.

My daughter bowled a 590 on Sunday in the President's day tournament at Elsie's in Minneapolis!  She has 3rd place so far!  Going in with a 145 average and finishing like that was awesome!

    Welcome

Saturday, February 17, 2007, 11:15 PM CST [General]

Just signing up to bowlspace. Found it advertised in the USBC mag.  Welcome to my space.  Drop me a note!  I'm looking to better my game, finally got out of my back-up throwing ways and bought myself a fingertip about 4 months ago. I've raised my average 11 points in Thursday night's league.  I'm pretty excited about it.  I come from a bowling family.  My parents owned a bowling alley in Osakis, Mn. before us kids were born. They sold it and moved to the cities where we 3 were born and then we started bowling too.  We all grew up in the Apache Bowl-O-Mat lanes, our parents bowled there and we learned to bowl there.  My sister is semi-pro and has 8 300 games, I, unfortunately don't have any yet.  But am looking for that day.  My highest is a 276.
